Fifth Grader Madison Johnson wanted to help her fellow students and her community. Miss Johnson is a student in Ms. Oliver’s class at Randolph County Elementary School. Randolph County Elementary School began the school year with Virtual Learning on Monday, August 10.

On Thursday, August 13, at the Weaver Temple Church, Madison conducted a drive through. With the help of her parents Andre and Rhonda Johnson, Madison was able to give out 75 book bags. The book bags had multiple items for school and COVID-19 protection. The limit was 2 bags per car, for 1st through 8th grades.

Parents were able to enter their names for a chance to win prizes. The drawings for the prizes were held on Facebook Live. The lucky winners were Martica Davis, Natasha Coleman, Syreeta James, Elizabeth Hightower and Gwinette G Martin.

It turned out to be a huge success for Madison and the community.
