On Saturday morning, March 13, at the Macon Coliseum, the Calhoun County Lady Cougars used a strong defense to hold off the Clinch County Lady Panthers 49-45 in the Class A Public Championship game. Leading the defense, Takia Davis, had 20 rebounds and 12 blocked shots while scoring 9 points. Destiny Hightower and Carmen Cannon each scored 10 points.
In 2019, the Lady Cougars finished second and last year, in 2020, the Lady Cougars reached the final four. This was their year, and the Lady Cougars brought home the school’s first girls’ basketball championship.
