Pilot Club Organizes Project for At Risk Seniors

The Pilot Club of Cuthbert had to make a big change of plans when COVID19 necessitated the cancellation of the Easter Party it was planning for the Randolph County Senior Center. Instead of the annual Easter party, plans were made to collect hygiene supplies to give to 150 senior citizens in Randolph County. Club president, Grace Crittenden and Club President Elect, Lenita Rogers contacted other groups with which they are affiliated to seek help in purchasing the items they needed to fill the 150 bags.

The bags were sent to the senior center by the Area Agency on Aging in Columbus. The items that could be located in quantity were purchased and delivered to the senior center where Grace and Lenita, wearing masks and gloves, packed the bags, loaded their cars, and made deliveries to the at-risk home bound senior citizens in the county.

On behalf of the seniors who received one of the bags of supplies, the Pilot Club wishes to express appreciation to each and every individual and group that helped make this project possible. Those helping the Pilot Club with acquiring the supplies were the Benjamin Hawkins Chapter of NSDAR (National Society Daughter of the American Revolution), Colony House Furniture, Cuthbert United Methodist Church, Friends of Faith, Randolph Historical Society and several individuals.
