Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘what are you doing for others?’” In celebrating the life of Rev. Dr. King, many choose to spend MLK Day volunteering and in service to others.
More ways to observe MLK Day are the following local events:
MLK DAY BRUNCH
The 4th annual MLK United Community Brunch will be held beginning at 10 a.m., Mon. Jan. 20 at ShaLo’s Event Center, 166 Dawson St., Cuthbert. The Speaker will be Rev. Brian Jones of Albany, GA. All citizens are invited to attend. Tickets are $15 and may be obtained from any member of the sponsor committee of Randolph County Democratic Party. The purpose of the brunch is to provide an opportunity for citizens to unite under one common bond and to promote harmony in the community.
MLK DAY MARCH
Theta Sigma Zeta of Zeta Phi Beta sorority Cuthbert, GA, will be hosting a Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March on Monday, Jan 20, MLK Day. The March will be held at 2 p.m. at the parking lot of the former Pic-n-Sav. Please support this march to keep the dream alive and unity.
